Propellerhead Reason 5 e Record 1.5

Foi anunciado o lançamento do Reason 5, e também do Record 1.5, ambos da Propellerhead. Em breve estarão disponíveis para download no site oficial e  nas melhores lojas. A empresa divulgou alguns vídeos legais com as novidades, módulos novos e recursos úteis estão inclusos nos sequenciadores.

Para os dois softwares, a função Live Sampling está inclusa, como o próprio nome diz, você poderá gravar qualquer instrumento ao vivo, e o melhor, em qualquer um dos samplers dos programas.

As samplers became software instead of machines, they came to rely on external sample editing software for recording and editing the samples and the art of spur-of-the-moment creative sampling was pretty much lost. Now we are bringing it back to Reason 5 with its live sampling input.

Para o Record, foi acrescido um novo módulo muito interessante, com as funções de pitch adjuster, audio transposer e voice synth.

Já o recurso de blocks, torna mais fácil estruturar e sequenciar as tracks, separando as seções de intro, verso, refrão, break, naturalmente em blocos, criando padrões onde é possível renomear, repetir, editar, da melhor forma possível.

Blocks lets you sequence your songs using a more pattern-based approach, with the segments of your song as individual building blocks to be laid out in your arrangement.

O Dr. Rex Loop Player ganhou um upgrade significativo, virou Dr. Octo Rex Loop Player e agora é possível – entre outros novos ajustes – loadear até 8 loops dentro de um só módulo.

Reason 5 Record 1.5 – Dr. Octo Rex Loop Player

PropellerheadSW — 23 de maio de 2010 — The upgraded Dr. Octo Rex loop player loads eight REX loops into one player and lets you switch between them on the fly. This makes arranging a breeze – load the drum loops into one player, the guitars into another and use the sequencer to select what loop to play in a pattern-like fashion.

With eight loops to switch between, the new rex also comes ready for the experimental minded. Set the player to retrig the loops on the beat, on the bar or on the 16th note. Or program the loops manually like in the original rex player.

For each of the eight loops, the new rex player also comes with an expanded set of per-slice settings. Set pan, pitch, filter frequency and level, reverse slices, use multiple outputs, create alternating groups of slices and much more.

Essas são as novas features que a Propellerhead soltou até agora, e estará disponibilizando mais novidades nos próximos dias, da mesma maneira que fez com o lançamento do Record, em conta-gotas, estratégicamente. Pelo visto a incorporação de VST vai continuar sendo uma utopia para nós usuários do Reason (eu pelo menos sonho com isso). Mas não vou fazer nenhuma crítica nem muitos elogios enquanto não mostrarem todas as novas atualizações, e enquanto eu não puder testar o software de fato.
